Tech Data's European Executive Board drives the strategic direction of the company's European operations and ensure it takes advantage of the growth opportunities in its traditional IT business, its specialist divisions and its services.    


Néstor Cano, President Europe

Néstor joined the company via the Computer 2000 acquisition in July 1989 as a Software Product Manager . He served in various management positions within the company’s operations in Spain and Portugal from 1990 to 1995, following which he was promoted to Regional Managing Director.

In March 1999, Néstor was appointed Executive Vice President of U.S. Sales and Marketing, and in January 2000 took on the position of President of the Americas. Néstor became President, Worldwide Operations in August 2000 and was subsequently appointed to the position of President, Europe in June 2007.

Néstor holds a PDG degree (Programa de Dirección General, similar to an Executive MBA) from IESE Business School in Barcelona and an Engineering Degree from Barcelona University. 

Alain Amsellem, Senior Vice-President, Chief Finance Officer, Europe

Alain Amsellem joined Tech Data in 1994, through Tech Data’s acquisition as the French distributor, Softmart International, S.A. where he held the position of Finance Director, and took on the role of Tech Data’s Director of French Operations.

In 2004 Alain was promoted to Senior Vice-President of Southern Europe. He was responsible for leading the distributor’s operations throughout France, Iberia (Spain and Portugal), Italy and Israel. In 2005 Alain was appointed Senior Vice-President of Finance and Operations for Europe. In his current rlole as CFO Europe, Alain holds responsibility for all financial matters Europe.
Alain is a chartered accountant and holds a degree in management and chartered accountancy from Dauphine University in Paris.

Andy Gass, Senior Vice President, Managing Director, UK and Ireland 

Andy joined Tech Data in 1993 and has held a number of senior roles both within Tech Data Europe, including Senior Vice President of the Enterprise Division EMEA and Regional Senior Vice President, South and West Europe.
Andy has led the execution of major growth and development initiatives across the organization and has been instrumental in the successful completion of several major acquisitions.
He now holds overall leadership responsibility for our UK and Ireland business.
Andy was educated at the University of Edinburgh and is a Chartered Accountant.

Michael Urban, Senior Vice President Broadline, CE, Services and Procurement, Europe 

Michael joined Tech Data in September 2012. 
Michael holds overall executive leadership responsibility for Tech Data Europe’s Broadline business, directing the development and implementation of short-term and long-range strategic plans for vendor management and procurement across the different divisions, including PCs, Software, Printing, Supplies, Peripherals and Components. He also holds overall responsibility for our European Consumer Electronics business unit and our services activities.

Michael, a qualified Electrical Engineer, brings more than 20 years’ senior management experience to Tech Data and has deep knowledge of our industry thanks to his successful tenure at the wholesale IT distributor Actebis. During a 13-year career at the company, he served in a number of leadership roles including Managing Director Europe and CEO and Chairman Actebis Holdings, making a major contribution to the company’s transformation into a multi-billion-euro, pan-European business. Michael has also engaged in entrepreneurial activities, founding and leading a number of different businesses in the fields of technology, telecommunications and online retail with great success.

Jonas Elmgren, Regional Senior Vice President 

Jonas’ career in IT distribution began in 1986 when he was one of the first employees to join the company Esselte Datasoft, whose name changed to Scribona in 1992. He has been working with Tech Data since 2000, when he joined the company as Sales & Marketing Director for Sweden.
In 2005 Jonas took on the role as Country Manager for Sweden and in 2006 was promoted to Regional Managing Director of the Nordic Region. He successfully oversaw the integration of Scribona in 2008, whereby Tech Data doubled its business overnight and became the market leader in the region. In his current position as a Regional Senior Vice-President, Jonas has responsibility for the following country operations: Nordics, East, Switzerland and Italy.
Simon England, Senior Vice President, Value Added Business 
Simon joined Tech Data in 2006 as Managing Director Networking He now serves as Senior Vice President Value-Added Busiiness. In this role Simon is responsible for the execution and continued development of the value added business dealing with Enterprise Technology.
Prior to joining Tech Data, Simon accumulated over 16 years of experience in value added distribution, with various companies, including Comstor, as Regional Vice President and Managing Director Europe. Simon studied Math and Computer Science at Bonn University in Germany.

Michael Dressen, Managing Director GerAus
Michael joined Tech Data in February 2012 as Managing Director Germany and Austria. 
He has over 25 years’ experience in the distribution business. He started his career in distribution 1987 with Computer 2000. Before joining Tech Data, he was Managing Director of ALSO Germany GmbH and member of the ALSO Group Management Board. Michael has an international background, having also worked in Austria, Italy, Norway, Sweden, Hong Kong and the United States.

Els Demeester, Managing Director Benelux

Els joined Tech Data as one of the first employees in  Belgium in 1989. During the 1990s she served in several management positions within the company’s Benelux operations. Shortly after the acquisition by Tech Data, she was promoted to the position of Regional Managing Director Benelux.

In 2007, Els was appointed Regional Managing Director Germany/Austria, where she drove the turnaround of the German operations, while keeping material growth in Benelux through several acquisitions. In 2012, Els returned to Benelux to lead the integration of the recently acquired companies and the transformation of the region.

Els holds an Engineering Degree in Micro Electronics and an Executive MBA from E.S.I.M Business School.

Pascal Murciano, Managing Director France
Pascal has joined Tech Data France in 2000 as Finance Director. In this position, Pascal had a key role in the transformation of the French business, helping to build the status of the Finance department as a real business partner. He also participated in key projects such as the implementation of SAP and our Collection of Specialists strategy respectively. In 2011 Pascal was appointed as Managing Director Broadline France and in 2012 he took his current role of Managing Director France. Pascal holds a Chartered Accountant degree and an Executive MBA at HEC Business School

Johan Vandenbussche, Senior Vice President Operations
Johan leads the Operations unit in Tech Data Europe, including overall responsibility for HR, Logistics, IT coordination and the company’s internal consulting team, which focuses on the standardization and enhancement of working practices across its country operations.
Johan is an experienced business leader with a wealth of knowledge and expertise tin the distributions industry. For 15 years he served as a senior international executive with technology distributor Ingram Micro, variously holding responsibility as Vice President for regional operations, M&A in Europe and the company’s pan-European business unit, as well as serving on the company’s European executive team. Prior to this, he served in senior roles in the industrial weighing manufacturer Avery Berkel and breathing equipment and gas protection company Dräger.
Johan holds a degree in Electro-Mechanical Engineering from Ghent University.


Stephen Nolan, Senior Vice President, Tech Data Mobile

Stephen joined Tech Data in February 2013. Prior to joining us, he worked at market-leading organisations such as Motorola, Google, Kimberly Clark and Procter & Gamble. He has enjoyed regional senior leadership roles in Europe and Middle East Africa in mobility and fast moving consumer goods.

Stephen earned a masters degree in business administration from the University of the Witwatersrand RSA, and studied at the McGill Management School in Canada, Lancaster Management School in the UK and the Institute of Technology in India
